Alabama football: Kalen DeBoer on Kadyn Proctor status for Wisconsin
Proctor is expected to play against the Badgers
DeBoer said Proctor is "ready to roll"
Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer said Monday that he expects offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor to play against Wisconsin on Saturday.
Proctor, a five-star recruit, missed the Crimson Tide's season-opening win over Utah State with an ankle injury.
DeBoer said Proctor has practiced fully this week and is "ready to roll" against the Badgers.
"He's a tough kid," DeBoer said. "He's worked hard to get back on the field, and he's going to be a big part of our offense this year."
Proctor is one of the most highly touted offensive line recruits in the country.
The 6-foot-8, 335-pounder was the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2023 class according to 247Sports.
He is expected to start at right tackle for the Crimson Tide this season.
Proctor's return is a big boost for an Alabama offense that struggled to run the ball against Utah State.
The Crimson Tide rushed for just 97 yards on 30 carries against the Aggies.
Proctor is a mauling blocker who should help open up running lanes for Alabama's running backs.
He is also a good pass protector, which will help keep quarterback Bryce Young upright.
With Proctor in the lineup, the Alabama offense should be much more effective against Wisconsin.
The Badgers have a stout defense, but Proctor's size and strength should give him an advantage over their defensive linemen.
